3 Weeks Old and Yum!

Hi everyone!  I'm three weeks old today.  Just want to apologize early...there aren't that many pictures of me this week.  I've been doing a lot of sleeping, and when I am awake, I'm fussy (so my parents say), so there aren't pictures of me then.  I think it's just an excuse that my parents use since I'm their second child.  Did I mention that I sleep best when I sleep on Mommy?

Here is one of the rare moments when I am awake an not fussy.

I'm a good big brother.  Want some, Julia?  What is that you're shoving in my face, Elliot??
I'm so good at eating this.  Look at this big bite!

And my mustache!

I got a new shirt from Uncle Eric and Auntie Colleen.  Mommy wanted a picture of me in it and smiling, but I was having a bit of a meltdown.
Uncle Kenny, Auntie Amelia, and Andrew came to visit me.  Too bad I was asleep though.  And I only got a picture with Uncle Kenny.

That's ok, Julia.  I was awake enough for both of us and I let baby Andrew play with my toys.  Here's a hug for him too!

Finally, since I'm in swim class, the teacher recommended that I get goggles, since I seem to be bothered whenever the water runs into my eyes.  I'm trying them out here.

Mommy has a hard time feeding me some times, because I get food coma.  Mommy has to try to wake me up by rubbing my tummy.  I can't believe she took this picture of me.  -sigh-

I had my two week check-up on Wednesday.  Just for reference, when I was born, I weighed (officially from the paperwork, not what the nurse told my parents, which was 7lbs 1 oz) 6 lbs 15.46oz and 19" long.  When I was discharged at 2 days old, I weighed 6 lbs 8 oz.  At 4 days old, I weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 20.75" long, which seems kind of wrong for the length.   At the two week check-up, Mommy thought that I'd weigh maybe 7.5 lbs so she was very surprised when she saw my weight on the scale.  I now weigh 8 lbs 8.5 oz and am 21.25" long.  As Daddy says, good job Mommy!  I'm in the 90th percentile in length and 75th percentile in weight, and my head circumference is in the 75th percentile.  My pediatrician thinks that the nurses at the hospital didn't measure my length correctly (by pulling down my leg), because there's no way I could have grown nearly 2 inches in 4 days!  Anyways, my next check-up is in a couple of weeks, so we'll see if I continue on this growth curve.

Sorry so short everyone.  My parents promise to take more pictures of me in the upcoming week!  Elliot is still taking too much of center stage!  Until next time!

  1. Yes, J eats so well that I couldn't believe how much she weighed! See that exposed tummy in the last picture? Buddha Belly! Can't wait to try out those goggles with E tomorrow. Julia you'll need to talk about your new-found favorite place to sleep next time you blog. :-)

  2. Great job, Mommy! Must be hard on you though, that means you're tied to the feeding chair. I was going to hunt out Avery's baby clothes, but it seems like I'll have to look at her 3-6 months instead. :)
