Trip to Los Angeles and Cousin-Fest?

Mommy bought me a new hat!  Yeah yeah, it's for a 4-5 year old.  But it fits!  That's the important thing!
Daddy bought me a onesie and this hat came with it.  Mommy didn't think it'd fit but it did.

This picture is a little blurry, but Mommy wanted to put it up anyway because of my smile and my pose.  Check me out.

As you can tell by the title, we went to Los Angeles for Memorial Day weekend.  We saw many many people, but first off, we visited some of Daddy's relatives.

Here's Great Uncle Kai and Great Auntie.

Here's Great Uncle and Auntie Chen, then Uncle Todd.

When I went to their house, they had this bobbing head doggy.  As I mentioned before, I like soft things so I was kissing it.

Then we visited Daddy's Great Aunt.  So I guess she'd be my great great Auntie.

Uncle Eric read my blog before and remembered that I liked cars or anything with wheels.  So he let me play with one of his old toys when we went to Great Auntie Susanna's house.  Thanks Uncle Eric!

Here I am with Alyssa.  She's getting more mobile now, rolling around.

I would not give this car up at all!  All the other ones I was playing with paled in comparison.  Sooo shiny!

Apparently, Cousin-Fest is something Uncle Mike started last year, where all of Mommy's cousins get-together once a year to hang out.  Last year we missed it because they went to Las Vegas, and my folks didn't want to bring me...I think I was only a few months old anyway.  This year, we all went to Disneyland!

Here I am with Alyssa and Uncle Eric.

I was waiting in line to get onto the Dumbo ride.  Mommy tells me he's a flying elephant.  I don't understand how that works at all, but I was excited.
I took a picture with someone named Aladdin.

I was looking at Auntie Jen here.

I got to ride on the carousel again...this time with Daddy!

I also got to drive a car (well, sit in one anyway) at Autotopia, but we have no pictures of that.

The last day I tried a kumquat.  Great Auntie Leona has a tree that has kumquats.  Apparently I like it.

I also fed Grandpa one too.  Apparently that one didn't taste as good, although I had no reaction to it and kept eating it.

Hmmm...what should I order?

On the ride home, Mommy was trying to keep me entertained...I did mention that I like cars, right?

And finally, I entertained myself.

Mommy also took this picture of me sleeping, mainly so she can see how long my eyelashes are.  Silly Mommy.  I don't think they're long at all...I can't see them.

Overall it was a very tiring trip, but I did better on the ride to and from LA as compared to when I was younger.  Guess I'm getting older and more mature!  Next time I'll need to take pictures with all of Mommy's cousins!

16 Months Birthday!

Another month has gone by.  Can you believe that?  I am now 16 months old!

Mommy wanted a picture of me naked.  I don't know why.  I'm staring at the toys here.  I LOVE taking baths.

We celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma and Auntie Jen the night before.  But Mommy forgot to take pictures.  It was good seeing my cousin Alyssa again though.

We went to this place called IKEA on Mother's Day (after Daddy made Mommy breakfast and lunch).  I saw this dog.  I like soft things so I shove my face into them.

I love anything with wheels too, especially carts!  I don't have much control though.

Daddy put me in the hamper.  I wasn't all too happy about it.

Mommy had let me use the spoon a couple of times in the past.  This time she let me eat yogurt by myself.  Yes, a bit of a mess, and I turned over the bowl and played with the yogurt, but it's a start.

Mommy kept trying to get me to grip the spoon with all my fingers (like in the first picture), but I wanted to try to be neat and only use a couple of fingers.

This is me after a bath...nice and cozy in my towel.

We went to a trial music class on Saturday.  My friends Megan and Lucas go to classes like this, so since summer is coming around, Mommy wanted to find things to do.  And since I like dancing, she figured it'd be a good thing for me.  As you see, I didn't stay with the group here.  But it is my first time!

It was a bit chilly this weekend, so Mommy bundled me up.  Geez Mommy...it's not like it's winter!

Here's a picture of me upset.  Mommy doesn't think we put enough of these pictures up.  I don't know why she's smiling here.  Can't you see that I'm MAD?

Sigh...that's Mommy for you...she thinks I'm cute.  Something about my bottom lip pouting.

In the meantime, I've been a bit more verbal.  I say "po" for "carry" in Cantonese, "ball", "adum" for "mum mums" (i.e. food), I sign "more" with my hands and then smile, I'm beginning to say "dada" or "daddy" more consistently for Daddy, but I also say "dada" when I look up and see "lights" (Chinese).  I imitated "mah mah" for horse in chinese (though I won't imitate "mama" or "mommy" for Mommy), "wawa" and "wa-er" for "water" (though I'm not consistent with that), and "all done" today (though we'll see if I'm consistent with that in the future).  I have said "bao" for bun in chinese, though I haven't eaten it in a while so who knows if I'll say it again.  I have versions of words for "hippo, blueberry, and book" though if you were to hear me say it, they'd all sound like words beginning with B or have B in them.  And if I'm in a good mood, I'll say "bah" for "bye."  It's just a matter of intonation (so Mommy says) that makes them different, and context, of course.  Many of my words are what Mommy calls "approximations" of real words.  That sounds like gibberish to me...as long as people know what I'm talking about, it's all good.

15 Months Birthday!

I'm 15 months already!  How quickly time flies!  It's been relatively quiet.  I got back on schedule a week after returning from Hong Kong.  My parents were very pleased.  Yay me!

I'm playing with my snacks, putting it on my head while looking at myself in the mirror.
I forgot to post this video in the Hong Kong post.  I don't know what I was thinking, but I was sure enjoying myself.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Now that I'm 15 months old, I got a new seat!  Though only in the car Mommy drives.

I've been practicing a bit using a spoon.  I do like yogurt.

I'm all about wheels.  Doesn't matter what they're on, I like to touch them.  We were at a park when I saw this.

Last weekend we went to my Aunt Tara's 5th birthday party.

Multi-tasking.  I'm beginning to enjoy the slide now.

I had a lot of fun with this shopping cart.

This weekend we had an impromptu get together with the July babies.  Here are Lucas and Ryan staring at one of my toys.

And here are Megan, Ryan, and I playing with another one.

Now that I'm walking more, I'm exploring more too.  Mommy said these are ice plants, but they don't feel cold so I'm confused.
Mommy is still bothered by my hair.  Hopefully it'll look better the next time I post.  Until next time!
