The rest of the month, 19 months birthday, and daycare!

This month I celebrated my 19 months birthday!  At my 18 month check up, I measured at 34" tall.  That puts me on the 90th percentile!  I was at the 75th percentile 3 months ago.  My head is still off the charts, and I didn't gain much weight in the 3 months.  I dropped to the 35th percentile from the 40th+.  That's to be expected, I guess, since I decided to be picky eater for a good month or more.  Hopefully I can gain some weight in the next few months.  But hey, I'm stretching because I'm so tall.  And if I follow in Daddy's footsteps, I'll be as thin as a stick like he was when he was younger.   Mommy is going to try to fatten me up, but really, Mommy, genetics IS supposed to play a part in some of this after all, so don't stress out too much.

Because I posted about Hawaii already, some of these pictures were taken before our trip.
One of the activities that Grandma and Grandpa did with me was visit the coin cars in the mall.  They MOVE! I was very happy about it all.
 What's over there??
 Woo HOOO!!

Here I am with a bunch of blueberries in my mouth.

Here I am another day eating something cold.
One weekend we went to Auntie Jun and Uncle Mark's wedding.  Look at me!  GQ anyone?

 There's my Mommy!

Lucas was trying to keep up with me, so he started yanking on my tie.  Being the older kid, I just tried to get away.

Mommy knows I LOVE being upside down.
Apparently Uncle Eddy is trying it out with Lucas too.  I'm not sure he's all that into it.
When we got back from Hawaii, Great Auntie Leona and Great Uncle Paul were in town for business.  They bought me an early Christmas/Birthday present.  Check out my RIDE!!!  They were hiding this from me while Daddy was trying to set it up.

It has a pedal (that I can't reach yet) to drive, and it plays music too.

And you know how much I like music.

When I was in Hawaii, Mommy and Daddy wanted to get me a professional haircut, but it never happened.  Well, it finally did later this month.  My parents were very proud of me...I didn't move around too much or cry.  It helped that I had a toy to play with and a video to watch at the same time.  I sat all by myself too!

My parents think the lady did a great job, though now they think I REALLY look like a big boy.  Mommy wants my bangs to grow a little more before she really likes it.  Uh Mommy, I just had it cut today!

Since Daddy had the week after we came back from Hawaii off too, we went to CuriOdyssey again.  This was Daddy's first time there.  We're lucky we got any pictures at all, since Daddy was so fascinated by everything there.  I did show him that I really liked playing with this gear exhibit.

Some times I crouch when I walk around.  It's just a fun thing for me to do.

Mommy always makes sure I have a snack when we go.  I sure did enjoy my shake.

And the swings.

We had the last music class for the summer one Tuesday.  I finally started participating, which is now making Mommy wonder whether she should sign me up again for the next semester. I like keeping her on her toes.

This is a cool toy.

Towards the middle of month, Mommy went back to work, which is why I started daycare.  Mommy was peeking at me when we were outside.  I'm in the orange striped shirt and being carried by the teacher here, since I didn't want to go back in.

I got the hang of what I was supposed to do rather quickly though.

I've been doing well so far, and I really like playing in the yard that's at daycare.

We have this tunnel at home.  Mommy's introduced this to me before, but this is the first time I went in by myself!  So fun!

Auntie Colleen and Uncle Eric came up to visit.  They're a lot of fun to play with.

Look!  Uncle Eric even let me drive his car!  How cool is that?  You really should wear a seat belt, Uncle Eric.  I may be a great driver, but it IS the law.

I'm starting to play with big boxes.  I've hidden some toys in here already.

Finally, to show off some skills...Mommy's happy I'm finally pointing to some body parts.

Another development is that about 3 teeth are coming in this month.  It made for an interesting few nights so far for Mommy and Daddy.
Hope you enjoyed the post!

Hawaii Trip!!

Hello everyone!  Yes, I know it's not my 19 month birthday yet, but I decided I had to post about our trip to Hawaii.  If I didn't, the next post would have too many pictures (not that you'd mind at all, of course).  So, as you read, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Hawaii for about a week.  It's our first true vacation together!  We didn't do too much, as I wasn't adjusted to the time change so my folks had to cater to my napping needs (how different is that from being home?), but it was fun anyway to hang out.

Check out my foot!

I'm giving some love to my Mommy.

Wow...we don't have these curtains at home.  Very cool.  What can I say?  I'm truly entertained.

We went to the Honolulu zoo!  It's my first trip to the zoo (though I've seen other live animals at CuriOdyssey).  There aren't very many pictures of me with animals, but lots of me smiling.

This is the tiny elephant we saw across from the big stinky elephants that had their backs facing us.  I like this one...he seems friendly.
Here I am having a blast because I was getting periodically sprayed by the sprinkler.

I laugh whenever I get hit by some water.
Yes, my fingers are in my mouth.  I've been doing that for over a month now...may be teething.  But seriously, why are those birds pink?
Daddy and I are best buddies now.

The next day we went to the beach...also another first for me.  I really enjoyed tasting the water from my fingers.

Here's is another of Mommy's attempt at getting a picture of my lashes. I really don't know why she does that.
Mommy really likes this picture of me.

I like pretending to talk on the phone, I mean water bottle.   It may look like I'm just hugging it, but really, I'm talking on the phone.

Mommy and Daddy's bed is so huge! I liked walking on the pillows and falling on them.

We went to visit this local place to eat.  Daddy liked the name of the plaza.  He told me it's really supposed to read like "Leekee Leekee."

One of our excursions was to  visit this Japanese temple called the Byodo-In.  It's supposedly a replica of one made in Japan and it was built before Daddy was born (so he tells me) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Japanese immigrant workers to Hawaii.  Wow..I think Mommy typed that sentence in.  I don't know what a lot of those words mean at all.

But I DO know that I like walking up and down ramps.
 Ooh!  A rare family photo!

When we finished visiting, I thought I'd drive the family home.  Heck, might as well give my parents some resting time.

Check out this outfit.  Uncle Brian and Auntie Mary bought it for me a while ago.  I'm so stylin'.  And Mommy thinks I look like such a big boy here.

The day I was sporting my outfit, we went to a local bakery called Leonards.  Apparently they make these yummy portuguese donuts.  We don't have a picture of me trying them, though my parents did let me eat some.  We were lucky we got there right before a small tour bus came by to drop off more people.

We also went to a place called Pearl Harbor and we went on the USS Missouri.  I'm the captain.
Later that afternoon, I went to the hotel pool.  The water was cold and it was windy, so Mommy didn't come in.  But Daddy and I were game and we played around.

I'm even kicking!  Mommy said I'm soo much better now than I was when she took me to my swim lessons.  Maybe I actually remembered something.

The next (and our last) day, we went back to Pearl Harbor to visit the USS Arizona memorial.  We had to go back because I was really cranky the day before and my parents had to leave for my nap.

I like the wind.

Look at my modeling strut.

I can see the water!

When we got back to the hotel, I always found ways to amuse myself.

I also really enjoyed walking by myself to the hotel.

And finally, a final family picture.  I don't look happy to leave.  We did have a fun time.  Hopefully we can go again soon.
Hope you enjoyed the mid month post and all the pictures!
