3 Weeks Old and Yum!

Hi everyone!  I'm three weeks old today.  Just want to apologize early...there aren't that many pictures of me this week.  I've been doing a lot of sleeping, and when I am awake, I'm fussy (so my parents say), so there aren't pictures of me then.  I think it's just an excuse that my parents use since I'm their second child.  Did I mention that I sleep best when I sleep on Mommy?

Here is one of the rare moments when I am awake an not fussy.

I'm a good big brother.  Want some, Julia?  What is that you're shoving in my face, Elliot??
I'm so good at eating this.  Look at this big bite!

And my mustache!

I got a new shirt from Uncle Eric and Auntie Colleen.  Mommy wanted a picture of me in it and smiling, but I was having a bit of a meltdown.
Uncle Kenny, Auntie Amelia, and Andrew came to visit me.  Too bad I was asleep though.  And I only got a picture with Uncle Kenny.

That's ok, Julia.  I was awake enough for both of us and I let baby Andrew play with my toys.  Here's a hug for him too!

Finally, since I'm in swim class, the teacher recommended that I get goggles, since I seem to be bothered whenever the water runs into my eyes.  I'm trying them out here.

Mommy has a hard time feeding me some times, because I get food coma.  Mommy has to try to wake me up by rubbing my tummy.  I can't believe she took this picture of me.  -sigh-

I had my two week check-up on Wednesday.  Just for reference, when I was born, I weighed (officially from the paperwork, not what the nurse told my parents, which was 7lbs 1 oz) 6 lbs 15.46oz and 19" long.  When I was discharged at 2 days old, I weighed 6 lbs 8 oz.  At 4 days old, I weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 20.75" long, which seems kind of wrong for the length.   At the two week check-up, Mommy thought that I'd weigh maybe 7.5 lbs so she was very surprised when she saw my weight on the scale.  I now weigh 8 lbs 8.5 oz and am 21.25" long.  As Daddy says, good job Mommy!  I'm in the 90th percentile in length and 75th percentile in weight, and my head circumference is in the 75th percentile.  My pediatrician thinks that the nurses at the hospital didn't measure my length correctly (by pulling down my leg), because there's no way I could have grown nearly 2 inches in 4 days!  Anyways, my next check-up is in a couple of weeks, so we'll see if I continue on this growth curve.

Sorry so short everyone.  My parents promise to take more pictures of me in the upcoming week!  Elliot is still taking too much of center stage!  Until next time!

2 Weeks Old! and Family Visits

Hi everyone!  I forgot to post this picture last week, but this is a picture that my grandparents took of me at the playground.  I'm getting really good at climbing this structure to get to the top of the slide.

Uncle Michael wanted to hold me again.  He was trying to get me to fall asleep, but it didn't work.
Auntie Jen wanted to hold me too.  I am really popular.

Hey!  What about me???  I love playing with Uncle Michael.

Auntie Kristine and Baby Milo came to visit me (though Baby Milo is huge compared to me).  Can you see me?  I'm in that wrap.  Mommy is borrowing it from Auntie Kristine.  I think I like being in there, though Mommy has to get used to using it correctly.
I frequently ask my parents if I can hold Julia.  I think I'm getting pretty good at it!

I pinched her nose!
Here I am with Alyssa in my ride.  I'm getting better at sharing my toys with her.  It was nice to see and play with her.  I'll miss her though.  She's moving to Pensacola, so I don't know when I'll see her next.

I'll miss her too!  But I'll be keeping my big brother, Elliot, company, that's for sure.  If only I could figure out how to get off this pillow.

My parents had a photographer come this past week and take pictures of us, but especially of me.  I'm typically tired after a meal, but I was especially tired this time.  I'm holding up my body with just my head.  I normally have my hands propping my head up.

We hope you enjoyed our pictures!  Now that we're back on a weekly schedule, the posts should be shorter since we're coming at you more often.  Until next week!

Our New Addition! One Week Old!

Hello all.  Another post, you say?  Ah, that's because we have something special going on here.  But first, and most importantly, pictures of me.  :)

Like my look?
During one of my last few days as the only child, my parents took me to the park.  They had a train ride there that we discovered!  I really liked it.

Don't I look so GQ here?

Well, I guess it's time for me to introduce my new baby sister, Julia!  Here she is with Auntie Nathalie.
And here are some different family shots.  One of us and Daddy.

One of us and both my parents.
Of course, Grandpa.
Like my cheesy smile?

And one of us and our Mommy.
Hello world!  My name is Julia!  I like sleeping with my arms under my head.  I hear my brother Elliot gave me a pretty good introduction.  I just thought I'd put my two cents worth here, now that he's nice enough to share the blog with me.  My parents were very pleasantly surprised when they found out I was a girl.  They decided not to find out what my gender was until the final reveal!  How cool is that?

I don't know why I look so serious, but it's one of the first shots Mommy took of me because I had my eyes opened.

Of course, I have time to still be silly here, right before my bath.

And I LOVE to relax.
Awww, isn't Elliot sweet?  He likes giving me kisses!

And he's doing such a great job holding me too!  Not bad for a first timer.
I'm not sure I like what's going on here, but I guess it needs to be done.

HI JULIA!  WAKE UP!!!

Alyssa came to visit with Auntie Jen, so we played with my toys and crayons.

Ah, a picture with Grandma.  I didn't meet her all week, as she was in a place called Camarillo helping Auntie Jen pack.  She was really chomping at the bit to meet me.
Don't I look so sweet sleeping here?
Alyssa and I were watching a video on Grandpa's camera.

What IS going on in there?
Look how big I am compared to the bunny.  I like sitting on the bunny to read.
Guess who came to visit as a surprise to me and Mommy?  Uncle Mike!  He was supposed to be in Virginia, but he decided to take a flight out just to see little ol' me.  He couldn't wait another month (when he'd be back in town) to see me.  I'm soooo special!  That's Auntie Jen, in case anyone forgot.

Here's a better picture with Grandma.

Mommy caught me while I was smiling.  Apparently, I've smiled a few times already these last few days.  They happen at random times though.  I can't seem to control when they happen, but they sure do make my parents happy when they occur.  If only I can control my muscles...then I can take over the world!

Here's a picture of the whole family!  Auntie Jen is going to have a baby in December, so I'll have another cousin to play with.  Well, now I have to saw WE'LL have another cousin to play with.
We hope you enjoyed the pictures!  We will both try to keep the blog up to date now that Julia has finally arrived.
