My First Birthday! January 24th-30th

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me!  Happy Birthday to meee!  Happy Birthday to me!  It was my one year birthday on Tuesday!  I officially have a year under my belt now.  Here is the last of my monthly pictures.  I don't think we'll be doing this any more now that I'm 1.

Grandma wanted to take a picture with me on my birthday.

We all went to Chevy's for dinner.  I had already eaten but it was time for my folks to eat.

I got to eat some ice cream!

And what is up with this sombrero???  Whoa!  Where did THAT come from?  The Mexican food must have penetrated my brain.

Some times I like to eat.  Other times...

I look happy, don't I?

We went to try on some hats since I've already outgrown the others.  What do you think?  I could be a model, no?

Daddy said I look like Zha Zha Gabor.  Who is that?
.
Auntie Nathalie bought me this for my birthday.  I'm gonna get it!

What is up with my hair??

Apparently, when Mommy was feeding me, I dipped my head straight into the spoonful of food.  Now I have food caked in my hair like it's gel.
Please oh please fix my hair.

Now that I'm one, I think I'm going to scale back on the weekly posts.  It requires a lot of time and I'd rather be up and moving around.  I will do my best to keep everyone posted every couple of weeks or so.

I'll leave you with a video.

Thanks for tuning in!  There will be more to come!

Week 52 January 17th-23rd

This week started and ended great because Mommy had both Monday AND Friday off (though she had to prepare for my party) AND we celebrated my 1 year birthday (a few days early)!

We never posted this picture, but it was supposed to be my passport picture.  In the end, it was too dark and I had to retake another picture.  Mommy put this up on her work computer.  She says she smiles every time she looks at it.

I've been kind of busy.  As always, I accomplish something new once (back in Christmas) and not again until a few weeks later.  I'm not very good, but I'm getting there.  My folks are super happy...though I think Mommy's going to second-guess that soon when I get into EVERYTHING!  Muhahaha!

This just happened on Tuesday, when I started off with just 3 steps earlier in the evening.  I'm by no way consistent, but it's progress!

On Friday, Mommy took me to the park by our house.  I was enjoying the swings.

A rare picture of the three of us together.  We need to take more of these pictures!

Uncle Willy was in town.

I first met him when I was a  few hours old!  I think I'm a bit bigger now.

Hmm...what an interesting article...

There were soo many people at my early birthday party!  Thanks to everyone for coming and bringing me presents!  Birthdays are cool.

I got to play with friends,
see my future kindergarten teacher Auntie Jan again,

and meet Auntie Michelle.

I even got to eat a big gingerbread cookie from Auntie Rita! (Auntie Rita's photo).

I got a big caterpillar cake from Mommy and Daddy and Zach let me borrow his cool hat.  Thanks Zach!

Grandma let me try cake!  Yum!

I also got to hang out with my buddy Grandpa.
I really enjoyed the balloons and I laughed a lot.

It took me a while to take my second nap...we had to wait until everyone left before I was willing or able to fall asleep.  It was just so fun to be with everyone!

Thanks for coming!  And thanks Mommy and Daddy for a wonderful party!

Week 51 January 10th-16th

Hello everyone!  This was a very quiet week.  We all had to recover from our Arizona trip.

Do you remember this toy?  Great Auntie Susanna bought it for me a few months ago.  I'm just now beginning to play with it.  Mommy had to help me get on it.

I was watching Grandma sing.  I'm stunned by her um great singing abilities.

Uh-oh.  I got caught pushing the button on Grandpa's amplifier.  It was fascinating...the screen turned on and off and on and off.

Grandpa ended up moving the gate further away from his toys.  Why can't I play with those toys??

Overall, I'm a pretty happy kid.

Except for when I don't want to eat.

Mommy had to pay Grandma $10 before she could see these pictures.  Mommy thought it was worth it.

On Saturday, we met up with some new people.  They didn't see me the first time everyone met because I was already asleep.  But this is Uncle Terrence, Auntie Verna, Tess, and Russell.  Check out Russell's hair color!  That's so cool!

Finally, Daddy was playing hairstylist again.  Daddy asked Mommy if I reminded her of a famous person's haircut.  Mommy said, "Oh no!  You Bieberized him!"  What does that mean?
Until next week!

Week 50 January 3rd-9th

This week both Mommy and Daddy returned to work, and I resumed my routine with Grandma and Grandpa.  I would say I did rather well getting back into the swing of things.

I got this pillow/blanket of Stitch (Mommy says from the movie "Lilo and Stitch") from my Great Auntie Veronica.  I really like it because it's soft.  So much that I bury my face in it.

Mommy found me on my back on the same pillow contently playing with toys.  Apparently I fell backward and was fine to just lie there.

At the end of the week I went on my second plane trip.  We went to Arizona for Daddy's second cousin's wedding.  I was pretty happy.

I really liked looking at the planes.

At the hotel, I gave my parents a hard time when they wanted to change me.  Since I'm more mobile now, I roll away from them rather quickly.

Look at my cool outfit.  I don't look happy though.  My parents had to wake me up from a short nap so that we could get to the wedding on time.

Here's my Uncle Sam.  He's one of Daddy's cousins.

Here's Uncle Jim.  Mommy says I was in her tummy when we went to Uncle Jim's wedding last year.  I guess I'll just have to believe her.

Here's Auntie Agnes...she's the mother of the bride.

Mommy wanted a picture of us two all dressed up.

Then Daddy wanted one too.

And of course, one of the three of us together!

I had a lot of fun at the party.  I was dancing and clapping (for the first time!)

I'm such a party-er.  I'm on the table here.

We had to pack up on Sunday.  Daddy put me in the suitcase.

We went to see Great Uncle and Great Auntie Lam.

Then I met Uncle Keith.  He couldn't be at the wedding yesterday.

Finally, a shot with all of us.

Back on the plane.  I had this seat all to myself.

Overall, I had a great time.  I made lots of friends at the airport and on the airplane on both trips.  Daddy said I traveled really well, and Mommy's really proud of me too.  Hmm...where to next?
